new record
it is done! took us over two years - multiple recording sessions, emails, phone calls, internet mixing sessions and scheduling hell, but it's done!!!
man, i never thought this would get finished (and so did a lot of other people) but here we are. 13 songs of pure rock and the it's called 'TEXAS ONE TEN'.
it was recorded july 2002 - october 2004 at sonic iguana studios lafayette, indiana and produced by mass giorgini and horace pinker. also, phillip hill from 'the teen idols'
was kind enough to lay down some backing vocals on a few songs (man, can that guy hit the high notes!).
we are very happy with the final result and think mass really worked his magic on this one.
we are talking to labels right now, but it will be released in spring 2005.
here's a track listing:
texas one ten
polisci101
morning sunshine
penny serenade exhale to asphyxiation
more at home
retrospective
texas one ten
scene one, take two
if you fall
half way

still life
2005 tour plans
we are currently planning a european tour for April - May, and then we are heading to brazil in june - july. we have never toured in south america before, so we are pretty excited
about that one. we are also talking about touring north america july - august. it will be our first full u.s. tour since 2000 and we're looking forward to getting out there again.
as we start to confirm dates i'll post them to the site, so keep checking back.
video release?
we did shoot a video out in los angeles last year for 'more at home' and it is finished. we are really happy with the final result and can't wait to share it with eveyone.
once we get a label and a release date set we will stream the record and post the video for everyone to check out. we are also talking with our friends over at blank tv about using the video
in their new dvd compliation.
etc...
just on a side note, i've had a lot of people ask why a follow up to our last full length record "pop culture failure" has taken so long so i thought i'd take this opportunity to explain.
i'd say the reason all comes down to "life" - we actually have one now. we basically spent most of the 90's living on the road, so it's been nice to take a little break. also,
since 'pop culture failure' and 'copper regret' were released i have gotten married, scott has gotten marrried (and had a beautiful baby girl), and he just finished his phd in history - now we all
have to call him dr. eastman (as if his ego wasn't big enough).
we also had two new members join the band in 2001 (greg on bass and don on guitar) which has solidified the best line up this band has had to date. in fact, i think the new record will
be proof of that. we have been playing locally and touring europe every year, but trying to finish this record has kept us close to home.
but i would have to say the biggest thing was my mother being diagnosed with colon cancer around the time 'pop culture failure' and 'copper regret' were released. she spent to years fighting
this horrible diease that finally took her life in May of 2002. we started recording after her death and this record is dedicated to her and was inspired by her. she was one of our biggest
supporters and she always pushed me to follow my dreams. everytime we played my home town (el paso, texas) she was always there. she also welcomed my band a place to stay
and a great meal. in fact all of our tours in the 90's were started in el paso due to the fact that we used my parents house as a practice studio to get ready for tour and we also wrote a good number of
our early songs their too. she loved my band memebers and always treated them as her own. she was the kindest and most genuine person i have ever know.
so, with that said those are the reasons it has taken so long to finish this record. also, a percentage of whatever profits that may come from this record will be donated to the american
cancer society in my mothers honor. i think this is the best record we have made to date and we hope you like it too.
