well, it's been a few months since the last hp update so here's what has been going on.
sorry for staying out of touch, but we've been working here in the hp camp! we've been writing and rehearsing the new record all spring and just spent june/july in the
studio with mass gorgini and phillip hill (teen idols/the queers) at good old sonic iguana in indiana and guess what? we just finished laying down all the tracks for the new record!
yeah, we can't believe it either. only took a few years to finish this sucker, so that's not too bad. we laided down 14 songs and will be spending the month of august mixing, sequencing, mastering and designing the layout,
so the new record should be ready to go by september! the only thing we know is that the record will be called '110 texas'. besides that, we know nothing else. we'll be talking to a few labels this fall,
so therefore we don't know what the release date will be. we should know something by the end of the year and we'll be sure to let you know as soon as we know.
also, some of you may remember that we shot a video out in los angeles last year and guess what?...it's done! our director paul did a great job and we are really
happy with the final product, but unfortunality we will not be releasing it until the new record is released. the video was shot for 'more at home' and
will be included on our upcoming record as well as some other footage of us making the video and recording the record. i have put some video up of
us making the video for you to check out. we should be posting the video on the site in the near future.
we are also working out details to shoot another video in september/october too, we'll let you know more soon.
greg and don did a little tour of the midwest as a two piece acoustic outfit for stereo south and apparently it went really well (meaning they didn't kill each other).
they have a new record that just came out called "justamere road" and it's available through
offtime records. check it out, it's some good stuff.
oh yeah, before i forget, our merch bitch/euro tour manager extrodanary (mr. kyle ryan) got married last year and we played his reception at the empty bottle here in chicago. we did
an acoustic version of 'letter never sent' (which was recorded for the discography cd) and i will finally upload it to the site in the next week, so check out the video section so you can see it.
