Back in 1991, I went to my second punk show ever, where I was grace by the melodic sounds of happiness blazing from a band called Horace Pinker. I was immediately in love.
Time passed, and although I saw them live about 100 times in the next couple of years, and spent time getting drunk with much of the band, eventually they disappeared from
Arizona and I was never to see them again live and in person.
Sadness I know.
Recently, they released a new CD which might be one of the greatest ever called "Texas One Ten". Pick it up if you haven't had the chance.
There is a reason behind this email that I am sending to all of you. Horace Pinker, after years of living in Chicago and endlessly touring in Europe, have decided to once
again play a show in Arizona, apparently their only stop on their North American Tour. The show is on June 30 and I would love to get there. The only problem is, I am stuck
in Utah and am flat broke. That is where you as my friends come in. I need to raise $200 in the next day to go and see this show. After all, a Horace Pinker show in Arizona
without a drunk Paul and Jason is just another performance. With a drunk Paul, well, that is an experience...
